Winter, the best time to visit the Caribbean.

Although the wonders of the Caribbean can be enjoyed all year round, the best time to visit is from January to March, when the climate is cooler and drier. However, August, September and October bring more tropical storms.

 

What's the climate like in the Caribbean?

The Caribbean enjoys a tropical climate, with year-round warm temperatures averaging around 25º C. Over the course of the year, the monthly average hardly varies at all, with summer highs around 30º C and winter lows of 22º or 23º C. The hottest month is May, while January is the coldest.

 

The climate in the Caribbean also has a relative humidity level fluctuating between 77% and 82.5%. There is less humidity in winter, although it remains high.

Rainfall occurs mainly in summer, particularly between October and December, and decreases in winter. March is the driest month, while October is the rainiest.

 

Dry season / Wet season

The dry season in the Caribbean takes place in winter, between December and April, with cooler temperatures, averaging 26ºC, and less rainfall.

 

The wet season in the Caribbean takes place in summer, between May and November, with average temperatures of 28ºC, more humidity and heavy rainfall, usually sudden and brief. It is also hurricane season throughout the region.
